Karnataka state has a rich diversity of plant species and sandalwood is grown abundantly in the forests of Karnataka because of the ideal weather conditions. Perfume, objects with intricate carvings, soap and medicines are some of the products made from this tree. These products are not only sold across the country but also exported. Hence Karnataka is known as ‘The Land of Sandalwood’.
