Dear student, SOLDER IS AN ALLOY OF EQUAL AMOUNTS OF LEAD AND TIN, WHICH HAS A MELTING POINT LOWER THAN ANY OF THE CONSTITUENTS. THAT'S WHY IT IS WIDELY USED FOR WELDING PURPOSES. Regards
