It is the process of eliminating metabolic waste materials which are not essential for the body or which are not absorbed by the body after digestion.
Excretion occurs through lungs(Carbon dioxide), skin(sweat) and kidney(metabolic waste).
It helps in removal of residual waste and water in excess.
Necessity of excretion:
Urea, for example, is an example of a hazardous waste product. When poisonous elements are not eliminated from the body, they mix with the blood and cause damage to the body's cells. Therefore, the removal of such dangerous waste products is required.
Diseases such as constipation, food poisonings can also be caused.
