Why is nitrogen not used in fire extinguishers inspite it is a non supporter of combustion

This is because although nitrogen is abundant in the atmosphere. It is quite hard to produce and it is also hard to separate it from the atmosphere. Hence generally carbon dioxide is used, because it is can be produced easily
