Open in App
Solution

Oxytocin hormone is the birth hormone which stimulates vigorous contractions of the uterus at the time of childbirth and this is given to aid parturition to activate smooth muscles during labour pains or when childbirth has to be hastened. It also produces a sensation in mother to produce milk via mammary glands when the newly born baby is hungry and stimulates vigorous contractions during milk ejection from the mammary gland.
