When it comes to residential wiring, why is a parallel layout used?

Open in App
Solution

Residential wiring

  1. They're wired in parallel so that two appliances hooked into the same receptacle receive the same voltage but draw separate amounts of electricity. To ensure that all appliances receive the same amount of energy, a parallel design is employed in residential wiring.
  2. Furthermore, if one circuit develops a flaw or a short circuit, it will not ruin the other circuits.
  3. As a result of parallel combination, the equivalent resistance decreases, resulting in less energy consumption.
