Why is repulsion a surer test of magnetism than attraction ? Describe one application of the attractive property of magnets.

Repulsion is the sure test for magnetism because it takes place only between two like poles of a magnet whereas attraction takes place between two unlike poles of a magnet and also between a magnet and a magnetic material.

Magnet is used to separate the useful magnetic substances like steel and iron from waste by the method known as magnetic separation.
