Why is salivary amylase unable to function in the stomach?

Salivary amylase is unable to function when it enters stomach because the pH of the stomach is nearly 1 to 2 which is acidic when the salivary amylase enters, it denatures and changes the shape of salivary amylase protein structure. Salivary amylase works best it neutral pH.
