why is saponification reaction a neutralisation reaction

No. Saponifaication is not a neutralisation reaction. Neutralisation reaction is the reaction of acid which base and the product formed is salt with a water molecule. But saponification reaction does not involve formation of water molecule. Saponification is a hydrolysis reaction .
