Sulfur:

  1. Sulfur is a non-metal element characterized by its bright yellow color and a distinctive odor that smells like rotten eggs.
  2. The toxic substance can cause severe respiratory tract irritation, coughing, and shortness of breath when exposed to it. Inhaling sulfur can also cause allergic reactions or asthma-like symptoms, including wheezing and tightness in the chest.
  3. Severe skin irritation marked by redness, itching, and inflammation may also result from exposure to sulfur.
  4. It is generally known that exposure to sulfur can have negative effects on eye health as well. Direct eye contact may cause severe eye irritation that manifests as pain, redness, and blurred vision.
  5. Sulfur dioxide is created when sulfur burns in the presence of oxygen through a chemical reaction. It is a colorless and poisonous gas.
  6. The respiratory system, as well as the health of the eyes and skin, are particularly affected by sulfur dioxide.
  7. Sulfur dioxide is also an air pollutant that affects the health of plant and animal life.
  8. It is also the main cause of acid rain as when it combines with water and air, sulfuric acid is formed which is the main component of acid rain.

Therefore, sulfur is bad for us when in large quantities as it cause many human and environmental health issues.
