Question

Why is Sulphuric acid used instead of Hydrochloric acid?

Open in App
Solution

Sulphuric acid(H2SO4) is used instead of Hydrochloric acid(HCl) because:

  • This acid is used universally for various neutralization reactions.
  • It is easier and safer to use Sulphuric acid and also has more potent than all of the other acids.
  • Although there are chances of adverse reactions, these reactions are rare.

Hence, Sulphuric acid is used instead of Hydrochloric acid.
