Why is that when we heat ice it becomes a liquid but when we heat other solids they do not become liquids?

Dear student,
Each and every solid has its own melting point. Melting point of solid, is defined as that temperature, in which solid gets transformed into liquid. In case for ice, its melting point is 0oC, that is 273K. So its relatively easier for the ice to melt on heating, than other solids, as ice reaches its melting point faster than other solids.
