Concept Used: Overloading in the circuit
Solution Explanation
The overheating of electrical wiring in any circuit due to large current flow is called overloading of the electrical circuit.
Overloading means the current circulating in the circuit becomes more than the capacity of components in the course. The current flowing through an electrical circuit depends upon the wattage (power) rating of the electrical appliances.
When the total power rating of the appliances connected in a circuit exceeds a specific limit, they draw a larger current. If the total current drawn by all the devices exceeds the safety limit of the wiring, it may get overheated. Excessive continued overloading of an electrical circuit may lead to electric fires.
