Why is the force of attraction between solid is very strong, in the gases it is less & in liquid it is between them?

Solution

Solid has particles close to each other as they have compact close packing arrangement (fixed shape). Due to this the particles has larger force of attraction than the particles in gases, which have free particles and they have no shape. But liquids have intermediate distribution of particles and arrangement of particles. So their force of attraction is in between.
