Why is the fuse wire fitted in porcelain casing ?

i. The fuse wire is stretched between two terminals in a porcelain holder.
ii. This porcelain holder is tightly fit into a porcelain socket which is connected in the live wire in the circuit.
iii. Porcelain is a very good insulator and thus there is no dangers of getting any electric shock.
iv. Hence, using porcelain casing in the fuse , makes it a very safe and convenient device.
