Why is the gravitational law called the universal law of gravitation?
Newton’s law of gravity is considered “universal” because it is believed to be applicable to the entire Universe. It is called so because it is applicable on all bodies having mass(like the sun, moon, earth or an apple) and the bodies will be governed by the same law, that is newton's law of gravitation. Newton's law of gravitation is valid anywhere in the universe irrespective of the size and shape of the object. Thus, as it is applicable universally, it is called as universal law.
