Solution
Law of segregation:
Based on monohybrid crosses, Mendel formulated the law of segregation. A monohybrid crossis a cross between two parents taking the alternative traits of a single character. For example - Cross between pure tall pea plant (TT) and pure short pea plant (tt).
It is also known as the law of purity of gametes.
It suggests that throughout the gamete formation, the 2 individuals of a pair of factors separate.
They don't mix or blend; instead, they separate into different gametes.
