In a class III lever effort lies between the load and fulcrum. Also, effort arm is shorter than the load arm. Therefore, in a class (III) lever mechanical advantage is less than one. It is useful because it allows the effort to be applied at convenient point. A sugar tong or a knife as shown in an example of a class III lever.
