It controls all the activities of the cell so it is called the Controller of the cell. Nucleus consists of three main parts—nuclear membrane, nucleoplasm and nucleolus. Nucleus plays an important role during cell division. Nucleus contains thread-like structures called chromosomes. These carry genes and help in inheritance or transfer of characters from the parents to the offspring.
