Question

Why is the number of sperm produced always more than the number of eggs produced ?

Open in App
Solution

This is because it is tough for the sperms to reach the fallopian tube and only 0.02% of them reach the fallopian tube for fertilization with egg. On other hand, the egg is well protected. So, it is no use in producing more than one egg.
