Open in App
Solution

Small intestine is considered as the most important organ of the digestive system because it performs two important functions - digestion and absorption.

In the duodenum, it obtains two important digestive juices namely – the bile and the pancreatic juice. Both the juices complete the process of digestion of nutrients. Once the food is broken down, the small intestine absorbs nutrients.
