The tropical deciduous forest are called monsoon forest because the trees in these shed their leaves during dry season and re grow during monsoon.They are also called dry forest because of op3en woodland and a long dry weather followed by a heavy rain session .
Some of the characteristics feature are :-
a).These are the most widespread forest in India .
b)They are present in regions with heavy rainfall for part of the year followed by adry season.
