Why is the vas deferens after joining with the duct from seminal vesicle called the ejaculatory duct?

The vas deferens is not known as the ejaculatory duct. The vasa efferentia open into the epididymis, which leads to vas deferens. The vas deferens opens into the urethra along with a duct from the seminal vesicle called the ejaculatory duct.
