We know that work done by a body in circular motion is always zero. This is because the angle between force and displacement is 90 degrees.
Now, to set 90 degrees angle between force and displacement throughout the circular motion, when force changes its direction, displacement too needs to change its direction which is actually tangential. Thus, force and displacement both change direction in order to set same 90 degrees angle between them.
Work Done = F × d × Cos (theta)
