Why is water liquid at room temperature?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student,
Water is a liquid at room temperature because at room temperature they have some intermolecular force of attraction which are weaker than that of solids but stronger than that of gases and also at room temperature is not sufficient so that the molecules can overcome their force of attraction and converted into gases. along with this, at room temperature water has no shape like ice but has a fixed volume.
