Dear Student, Answer to your question is as follows : Lakes are enclosed water bodies. These are classified as follows : Fresh water lakes, Salty lakes and Brackish lakes. Fresh water lakes are generally fed by rivers, salty lakes are generally saline whereas brackish lakes are partially saline. Chilka Lake is a brackish water lagoon. It lies in eastern part of Orissa. It is not wholly a inland lake, it flows into Bay of Bengal which makes it saltier due to mixing of sea water into it. Regards
