why lithium unlike other alkali metals doesn't form ethynide?

Ethynide:

When alkali metals react with ethyne, they form ethynide compounds. It is also termed as acetylide.

General structure of metal acetylide: M⁺^-C≡C-H.

But Li metal does not form ethynide or acetylide with ethyne because of small size and high polarizing power of Li.
