Why moisture level of food grains should be checked before storage ?

Solution
Before storage, moisture level of food grains should not be more than 9%, otherwise growth of microorganisms (bacteria and fungi etc.) will take place causing either discolouration or complete spoilage of food grains.
If freshly harvested grains are stored without drying, they may get spoilt or attacked by microorganisms, losing their germination capacity.
