  1. Nitrogen is needed both by Plants and Animals because it is the major constituent of proteins, vitamins, hormones, etc.
  2. Protein is important for the growth and energy of plants and animals which is a result of nitrogen fixation in the ground.
  3. Nitrogen is a crucially important component of life. It is an abundant element present in the atmosphere. Every living organism including plants and animals requires nitrogen for its growth and development. Along with other minerals, nitrogen is known as macro minerals as they are found in large amounts in plant tissues.
  4. Enhancing the plant’s biological processes.
  5. Play a vital role in the growth and development of plant tissues and cells.
  6. It is the building block of proteins, without which plants would have died.
