Question

Why nucleus of an atom does not attract electron when electron cloud form according to VSEPR theory?

Open in App
Solution

In according to recent mechanics, the electron will not radiate energy if it is in stable energy level. But to be attracted by the nucleus and fall on it,. electron has to radiate energy(lose energy) which is not possible. Hence electron will not fall on nucleus. This theory is applicable to atoms as well as molecules (VSEPR) theory.
