Why only HCl and not sulphuric acid is used to remove the copper rusting?

Sulphuric acid is a very strong acid and can react with copper to cause a reaction. Even dilute sulphuric acid is highly reactive.
Hydrochloric acid pickles much faster while minimizing base metal loss.
