Solution
A body moving in a particular direction has a tendency to move in the same direction. It is called the inertia of direction.
When a bus suddenly takes a turn, it changes its direction but at the same time, the upper part of the passengers of the bus can not move in the same direction instantly.
Therefore the passengers are thrown outwards due to inertia of direction.
