Question

Why Phosphor Bronze Is Used In Galvanometer?

Open in App
Solution

  • Galvanometer are usually made on the basis of torque of magnetic field on small circuit.
  • So if we want large deflection, twist per unit deflection has to be small.
  • Phosphor-Bronze wire is used in galvanometer because it has high tensile strength . Moreover it also has small value of restoring torque per unit twist.
