Solution

Photorespiration is a process that occurs in calvin cycle during plant metabolism. In this process the key enzymeRuBisCO that is responsible for fixing of carbon di oxideacts on oxygen rather than carbon di oxide. It occurs because of the conditions in which carbondioxide concentration falls down andRuBisCO does not have enough carbon di oxide to fix and it starts fixing oxygen. Under suitable conditions, C3 plantshave sufficient water, the supply of carbon dioxide is abundant and in such conditionsphotorespirationis not aproblem.
