Question

Why PPM is better than PWM?

Open in App
Solution

Pulse Width Modulation (PWM):

  1. It is the technique through which analog signals are generated from digital devices.

Pulse Position Modulation (PPM):

  1. It is the process in which the signal is transferred in the form of pulses.
  2. In this, the phase deviation is smaller than PWM, due to which the noise has smaller disturbing effect.
  3. So, the signal to noise ratio in PPM is better than that in PWM.

Thus, PPM is better than PWM.
