Why scientists give long binomial names to all the plants and animals?

Open in App
Solution

binomial name consists of both species name and genus name . the 1 st part of the binomal name represents its genus part and its 2nd part consists of species name. this helps us to find out which class of species and genus are those plants and animals.
for eg.Mango - Mangifera indica here Mangifera refers to its genus name and indica refers to its species name.
