Why should an accused get a defence lawyer ?What if they weren't allowed one? ​

The accused needs to have a defence lawyer because every individual is deemed innocent until proven guilty. Therefore, the accused has the right to put up a defence for which a defence lawyer is necessary. If the accused is not provided one, then then trial cannot proceed.
