Why should an electrical appliance be earthed?

Earthing:

1. All electrical appliances should be properly earthed to prevent electrical shocks.
2. Because all electrical circuits consist of three wires, a live wire is in red colour, a neutral wire is in black colour and an earth wire is in green in colour.
3. Excess amount of current goes to earth through earthing wire and is protected from damage.
