Why should the foodstuffs like orange juice,pickles,chutney and curd not be kept in iron or aluminium containers ?

Curds, orange juice, pickles, chutneys all contain high amounts of acid (vinegar and citrus) in juices. These foods will react with metal and the metallic flavours and compounds would render the foods poisonous.

When the foodstuff contains Acids kept in Iron and aluminium vessels, the Acids present in them reacts with metals of the content and produced some toxic salts and harmful substance and this toxic salt can harm your health. All foods of the discussed type are stored in sterilized vacuum-sealed glass jars.

●Most of the metals reacts when reacts with acids form salt and hydrogen gas.
