Solid is one of the states of matter. The particles are perfect and tightly packed.
It features closely packed atoms whose kinetic energies are much lower than those of liquids and gases.
All solids have rigid structures that tend to resist any external forces applied to them.
Solids also are known to have a fixed, definite shape (unlike liquids and gases, which assume the shape of the container they are placed in).
Furthermore, solids are also known to have a fixed, definite volume (unlike gaseous substances which expand to occupy the entire volume of the container they are placed in).
A wooden table should be called a solid because it matches the characteristics of the solid state.
Reasons:
It is very hard and rigid.
Its shape cannot be changed by altering temperature or pressure.
Because the particles in the wooden table are perfect and tightly packed. There is no movement of the constituent particles present.
It is quite heavy which means high density.
Hence, the wooden table is considered in a solid state.
