Why sperms do not enter through animal pole in egg cell?

The sperm usually makes contact with (enters) the ovum (egg cell) at the animal pole.The regions of the animal pole take part in gastrulation, it is the live part which is having small cells that can divide repeatedly which later get differentiated to form the embryo.
