Question

Why the area of opening at bottom end of each vessel should be same in hydrostatic paradox?

Open in App
Solution

Dear student
Since the hydrostatic pressure is always perpendicular to the walls of vessel ,the force on the inclined walls has the inclined component that compensates for the excess weight of the volume of fluid in a vessel which is wider at the top and all vessels have the same base area and the force will be same in all directions. So that the force experienced by the each vessel is same.
