Why the charge on a capacitor always equal to charge on it's positive plate and not on the negative one?

Becoz current always flow from -ve to +ve. Hence, charge will flow towards +ve plate and flow away from -ve plate. So, the charge on a capacitor is always equal to charge on it's positive plate and not on the negative one
