Why the Earthworm live in soil?

Why we can't fold our elbow backward?

Earthworms eat soil. Their nutrition comes from things in soil, such as decaying roots and leaves. Animal manures are an important food source for earthworms.
They cannot get their nutrients by living in water.
So they live in soil.


We cannot move our elbow backwards because the hinge joint which is present in our elbow, allows movement in only one angular plane.That is no movement is possible in backward direction.
