Why the embryo always get connected through placenta with its navel only?

Dear Student,

Belly button or navel is the spot that once had umblical cord attached to it for removal of waste and for nutrients and oxygen exchange. There is no answer to why only placenta attaches to this point but in all child bearing animals navel is found.
