Why the weak forces of graphite make it soft

Dear Student,

Unlike other elements graphite is formed by layer upon layer formation which are hold by weak force hence it makes graphite slippery and the reason for weak force is of delocalised electrons in the graphite. Hence graphite is one of teh soft material.
