Question

Why there are less locations where tidal energy can be harnessed?

Open in App
Solution

Tidal forces are varying according to gravitational attraction by celestial bodies. These forces are responsible for motion of oceans. Due to this force, water levelget bulged causing increase in the sea level temporarily. Due to this the water from the middle of the ocean move towards the shoreline. Thus it produces tide.Due to the change in the force of attraction, all tides cann not be used for generatingenergy. Only few tides can be used. So there are limited locations.
