why to export petrol and again import?

As,the production of crude oil in India is very less which is not sufficient to meet it's domestic demands ,so it imports the crude oil,but on the other hand it has many refineries making it good at refining capacity ,which refine the crude oil imported ,India has exports products like gasoline, gas oil, naphtha, jet fuel etc.
