viruses are disease-causing agents which are smaller than bacteria. Viruses are intracellular parasites with protein and nucleic acid in their structure.

A Viruses are non-living and remain as a particle when not in contact with a host. As soon as when the virus enters the host body system, it replicates like a living organism.

That's why they are considered connecting link between living and non-living.
