Solution
Dear student Green revolution is a revolution started in the late 1960's for achieving self sufficiency in the production of grain like wheat and rice and thus improving agriculture in India.
The initial impact of green revolution was limited to wheat and only to a few regions because-
Initially only the farmers of Haryana ,uttar pradesh and Punjab used out the modern farming methods. They made use of High yielding variety seed, chemicals fertilisers and pesticides in farming .They used tubewells for irrigation.
The capital needed for HYV seed was very high .Therefore the farmers of backward regions could not use the modern techniques.
Markets and results for wheat are better so the HYV seeds were utilised more for growing wheat initially.
